Happy Thanksgiving

We had a lovely Thanksgiving with family and friends.

We baked, cooked, cleaned, and played a little bit of football (Not me!  The youngest 6!)

Over the week, we did what school we could with having Little Mister over 2 days, having Sugar Bear and The Munchkin over on one day, and needing to devote all of Wednesday to Thanksgiving preparation in the kitchen.

They fought with swords and set up a gaga ball pit!

Sweet, patient Little Mister tolerating being mothered by Sugar Bear. :)

I laughed listening to Brother and Baymax talk on Wednesday after I told them they had no school assignments at all.

Baymax:  I love not having school.
Brother:  Yes!  I do too!  It's such a relief!
Baymax:  I know!  I don't have to think all day, "Oh no!  Is my school done?"
Brother:  Yeah!  Me, too!  I wonder, "Can I go outside?  Is my school done?  Can I play?  Is my school done?"

Baymax is usually done with his independent school by 9:00 am. 🤣🤣

Brother is absolutely free to leave school to go outside or read or play for a bit to re-center himself whenever he needs to.  🤣🤣

Somehow, they're still feeling stress.

I don't want to pretend that their stress isn't real to them . . . but it's really hilarious at the same time!!!

We read a few chapters of The Education of Little Tree.
We read a few chapters of The Master Puppeteer.
We did one day's notetaking on Japan's geography.
We did one day's reading/discussion for Human Anatomy.
We read one poem.
We added some new presidents to our memorization list.
We're going to finish Peter Pan tonight.
The kids each did 2 days' math and grammar lessons.
We had a library day.
All of the kids had church activities; the older kids had a Friendsgiving dinner, and the younger kids had Thanksgiving activities led by me.

Friendsgiving!

Rose Red was inspired one day to invite the kids to dig and dam a swimming hole in our little rainy-season creek.

Here's the work they did.

And here it is after it rained!

They were so cold!!!

One night we had a power outage for a few hours.

We functioned by candlelight

It's about to be December!!!
