Almost in the Full Groove

 I forgot to report in my last post that seminary also started up this week.  Little Princess is doing online seminary at home, but Ladybug, Mister Man, and now Brother are all attending in person.

This means early mornings for them . . . and for Sir Walter Scott! 😁

This also means that I find teens sleeping in random places at random times. 😂



Everyone but Lola loves having science to do each day.

Baymax is the best at knowing that if he just does the work right away, then the rest of the day belongs to him.

Lola is happy if it's a drawing assignment.

Mister Man did a few simple experiments.
This is the density activity.


Everyone loves their electives.

The week was a little bit rough because of how much more work they have to do, but they're finding their groove.

This week we're adding Family School:
    *Western Civ
    *American History
    *Good Books
    *Shakespeare
    *Golden Book of Natural History (Yes!  We're still working on this one!)

But it's still too hot to bring outdoor exercise into the schedule.

And I haven't had a chance to think and plan enough to start the gym membership I want to start.  

Maybe it will happen this week, but with 2 kid birthdays, dance, a holiday, case management, watching my cutie patootie grandbaby, church activities, CAP, watching Little Mister, and homeschool, I don't know.

Seriously--I'm so in love!

Sunday We made "gingerbread" houses after church. Then we went for a walk.  Then we started reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever .  I know the story of Christ's birth should be my favorite Christmas story, but it's really The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. A Week, Briefly (Summer is not over)

Last August I was not ready for school to start, but I did it anyway because I thought I should. And in September I had mental health crisis of the most serious kind. This August I am not ready for school to start. And I'm honoring that. However, I am ready to document brief moments of the beautiful learning that my kids engage in when I'm not running school. This week Rose Red is in Florida at a surfing camp.  She's with a sweet friend.  I could not be happier for her to have this experience away from home, at the beach, out-of-doors, physically active, and just plain cool. As far as I'm concerned, this is a quarter of a credit of P.E. The rest of us are at home.  My teens are reveling in their last days of bizarre teen sleeping schedules before early morning seminary begins next week. A Week, Briefly (10/30/17)

On Saturday I folded laundry for a looooong time.  Pixie took my picture with most of it--we'd already put a few piles away.  That's not really a school thing, but it is a time-management thing, and time-management is part of homeschooling.  Truly, having all of the folding be my job is NOT working! We went to "The Kitten Farm" on Sunday for Family Night.  Following are a gajillion pictures because I feel happy when I look at them and because I didn't feel like being selective.
